Woohyun Park smiling in front of a laptop

I'm Woohyun Park, a developer who removes friction.

I build more convenient products for users and an environment where colleagues can work more easily.

I start with small frustrations and investigate their root causes and related problems. I apply the solutions I find to the product, the code, and the way the team works so users and colleagues do not face the same frustrations repeatedly.

PlugB2B Sales Lifecycle Management SaaS

Established a Shared Foundation for Colleagues to Build and Verify Consistent UI
  • Centralized control of icon size and color through a component-reference API and automated SVG normalization and component generation to maintain consistent size and color as icons are added or changed
  • Replaced one-at-a-time component state comparisons with Storybook state matrices and placeholders to compare state combinations at a glance, using Chromatic to verify visual differences before and after changes
  • Redesigned a Drawer with growing screen-specific options and branches using named slots and composable components, separating shared layout and interactions from screen content and business logic across eight business areas
  • Implemented Tiptap mention and image-resizing extensions for the different editing needs of contracts, emails, and admin screens, composing them by use case to selectively reuse the required features
  • Consolidated repeated UI and color and typography tokens into shared monorepo packages to apply component and style changes consistently across four apps
Identified the Causes of Interrupted User Workflows and Improved Loading and State Management
  • Added Base64 LQIP placeholders and a single-request flow for original landing images to avoid empty areas while loading, reducing time to first visual information by 72% versus the default Image component
  • Used React Activity to preserve Drawer input values and scroll positions that reset on tab changes, combining prerendering and list virtualization to reduce content preparation time by 81% on first visits and 42% on return visits
  • Prioritized visible columns on a request board and loaded off-screen columns sequentially, reducing entry requests by 65% and initial screen wait time by approximately 23%
  • Applied Suspense and shared boundaries to a dashboard where loading checks for multiple APIs were mixed into metric calculations, separating calculation logic from loading and error handling and standardizing section-level presentation
Reduced Development Delays and Repetitive Work Through Shared Structures and Validation Criteria
  • Replaced direct shared-source references with prebuilt packages to reduce build time by 25%, and removed unnecessary barrel export dependencies to shrink the initial shared chunk by 77%
  • Reorganized API, state, and UI code scattered across technical folders using FSD, documenting and linting layer responsibilities and import rules to standardize feature navigation and dependency review
  • Consolidated domain-specific API response transformations into shared mappers and added Zod validation at key query boundaries to reuse transformation rules and detect malformed responses before they reach the UI
Systematized Development and Operations Processes So Colleagues Can Review Information and Decision Rationale Together
  • Enhanced a Claude Code plugin with interviews, specifications, and design reviews to preserve implementation intent and decision rationale, aligning TDD, QA, and pull requests around the same requirements and decision records
  • Introduced AI summaries of commits and pull requests promoted to production to clarify what deployment notifications alone could not, automatically sharing release notes in Slack with user-facing changes separated from development details
  • Applied business-specific error classification and deduplication policies in Sentry, where expected errors and operational failures had been mixed, to surface errors requiring action

TokTok WorldInternal Culture Platform

Identified Improvements to the Internal Work Environment and Carried Them Through from Planning to Development
  • Planned, designed, and built an internal platform to make appreciation, feedback, and event participation part of everyday work, linking Slack mission verification with point and sticker rewards to encourage colleagues to participate
  • Used profile and company information registered on the platform to create business cards and email signatures, automating print files, signature images, and HTML so employees can download them without separate production requests

HanssemStore & Remodeling Web Services

  • Consolidated duplicate desktop and mobile data processing into shared hooks and separated shared server data from instance-specific UI state to address data inconsistencies, state interference, and duplicate requests

Open-Source Development & Contributions

semantic-wrapJavaScript Library for Semantic Line Breaking

Built a Library by Exploring “Could Line Breaks Consider Meaning as Well as Visual Balance?” in Depth

  • Designed and published a library to improve awkward line breaks in Korean titles by combining semantic boundary prediction with browser layout measurements, adjusting native wrapping only when line count, model score, and visual balance criteria are met
  • Separated computation, React integration, and language-specific models into independent packages, providing a replaceable predictor interface and a BudouX adapter for reuse across environments and prediction models

Contributions to External Projects

  • MDN Browser Compatibility Data — Corrected Chrome compatibility information that described word-break: auto-phrase as effective only for Japanese to also reflect its behavior in Korean PR #30360
  • pnpm — Fixed reparsing failures for patches created by patch-commit in non-ASCII paths through Git path output settings, verifying patch path normalization with TypeScript and Rust regression tests PR #13802
  • Ark UI — Fixed Next.js build failures caused by statically referencing React's optional Activity export using runtime feature detection, preserving the existing fallback in unsupported environments PR #3967
  • Chakra UI — Corrected the Next.js Link import in Breadcrumb documentation so the example works as written PR #10923
